Adam Bass, MD is a physician scientist, Irving Professor of Medicine, and the Founding Director of the Center for Precision Cancer Medicine at Columbia University. His lab has led pivotal studies to define the genomic etiology of cancers of the stomach and esophagus and then has worked to experimentally determine how specific genomic aberrations promote the formation of these cancers. His work is increasingly focused upon the development of rational therapeutic strategies for specific subsets of gastroesophageal cancers through rigorous laboratory studies followed by collaborative work to bring these therapies forward into the clinic.
